Bio

DG Josie Prokop

DG Josie Prokop has been an active member of the Royalton Hills Lions Club since February 2012.  She has chaired numerous committees and worked on many others.  While serving as Club President and District Zone Chair, Josie helped establish the Military Zone Project which has been adopted by several Lions Clubs throughout the country.  Prior to beginning her Governor journey, Josie served 2 years on the State Constitution and By-Laws Committee.  Her work has been recognized with awards at both the State and District level including Royalton Hills Spirit Award, Lion of the Year and several Council of Governor’s Awards.  Josie was thrilled to receive the 2018-2019 International President’s Award.

Josie has completed RLLI levels 1 & 3, obtained her Bachelor’s in Lions in 2018. She is currently working on her Masters in Lions, which she hopes to complete at the USA/Canada Forum this year.

Her pre-Lions credentials include a B.A. from Heidelberg University and a J.D. at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.  Josie is a litigation attorney at Williams, Moliterno & Scully. She is licensed to practice in the State of Ohio, Federal District Court, Federal Appellate Court and the United States Supreme Court.  She has traveled to Washington D.C. several times to present candidates for admission to the United States Supreme Court and spent two years as the Litigation Chairman for the Ohio State Bar Association.

On a personal note, Josie is married to Lion Jim Prokop who joined Lions at the same time.  They credit their son, Paul with becoming Lions.  When their son was collecting for a charity event, he asked them to donate in lieu or volunteering. Both realized that the most valuable commodity they had was time and that their time needed to be given, in part, to service.  Paul, though not yet a Lion, has been volunteering at both Josie and Jim’s clubs’ events and will no doubt, carry on the family tradition in Lions once Josie ascends to the governorship.
