Bio

CC Lydia Houser

Lion Lydia joined the Mad River Lions Club in March of 1999.  She has been very active in her club since joining.  She has served as Tail Twister, Board Director, Membership Chairman, 3rd Vice President, 2nd Vice President, 1st Vice President and President.  She is also chairperson of the Mad River Lions Constitution & By-Laws Committee and the Scholarship Committee and is a member on numerous other committees of the club.  Lion Lydia stays very involved in her club’s fundraisers and service projects.  She has also served as Zone Chair, District 13H Newsletter editor (2008-2012), Lioness Liaison, Convention Tail Twister for many years, and is on the Ohio Lions Eye Research Foundation where she is the Executive Director.    
 
Lion Lydia is a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.  She has also had 100% attendance since joining the Lions.  Lion Lydia has received numerous awards:  International President’s Letter of Commendation and Award (2010-2011), Council of Governor’s Award of Merit (2015-2016) (2014-2015) (2009-2010), Council Chairman’s Award of Excellence (2008-2009).  She also became a Guiding Lion in 2016 and has been a Club Excellence Facilitator.

Lion Lydia retired from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base after 38+ years as the Chief, Configuration/Data Management, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Special Operations Forces Directorate.

Lion Lydia is married to fellow Lion, Ric Houser.  They have four children (Chris, Jason, Jeremy and Rachelle) and nine grandchildren. 

In Lion Lydia’s spare time, she enjoys traveling (especially cruising and going to the Smoky Mountains), reading, shopping and sports.  She is an avid Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan and Ohio State football fan who loves watching her beloved teams.
