DG Becky Thornton

District Governor Lion Becky Thornton grew up in a Lion’s town and in a Lion’s family. Her father was a Lion. Many of the town’s leaders and business owners were Lions and friends, thus making a lasting impression,

Becky joined Wooster Noon Lions Club in 2007 at the invitation of her husband, PID Steve. She has served as progressive vice president for three years and president of the club. She served three years as zone chairperson, district Diabetes chairperson for several years and on the state Marketing and Communications Committee for several years. Becky also as District Administrator. She also served as the state newsletter editor for several years.

Becky received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Lions University. She has been awarded the Dick Bryan Fellow, Zone Lion of the Year 2020, Knights of the Blind Award and is a progressive Melvin Jones Fellow and a Betty Coffey Award.

Becky had a 40+ year career as an RN. She has her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Administration. She and PID Lion Steve, also a progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, were married in 1975. Together they have three adult children, two of which are Lions, and ten grandchildren.
