REDISTRICTING UPDATE

 In a straw vote conducted on May 17th at the 2008 MD 13 State Convention in Columbus, a majority of the delegates selected Map 1 as their first choice.

After the results of the straw vote to select a most favorite map was announced, a second question was posed to the 2008 MD 13 State Convention delegates. “Based on the map that has been selected, are you in favor of continuing the Redistricting process?”

A majority of the delegates voted to continue the Redistricting process.

A reasonable question to ask is "What's next?" The ad Hoc Redistricting Committee will meet soon to develop next steps, and partner with the 2008-2009 Council of Governors on a time line, identification of issues and work to be done, and how to best communicate all this. It may be possible a session at the Fall Conference can again be developed to share information and status updates. As always, we look forward to your input, comments, and support!
