The OHIO PLAN: recruit new Lions Club members. This program makes extensive use of the Healthy Club Initiative material, other useful resources, and the many years of experience of the authors in recruiting new Lions. Of significant importance is the fact that the Ohio Plan addresses a question that is often asked by Presidents and Membership Chairmen: "How do I go about recruiting new Lions for my Club? I've never done this before, so please be specific. Tell me all the things I need to know and all the things I need to do to make this successful." The Ohio Plan guides club leaders through the membership recruiting process in a detailed, step-by-step manner. The instructions include: identifying prospective candidates, making letter and phone contacts, planning the New Member Night, preparing the needed literature and handouts, conducting the meeting, sharing with the prospects what they need to know (even if they don't really know what they want to know!), "selling" the guests on your club and Lionism, performing the necessary follow-up steps, and getting the prospects to sign the membership application. The Ohio Plan is co-authored by PCC, PDG Lion Jeff Hillis, Colonel Crawford Lions, District 13-B VDG Lion Ken Marshall, Broadview Heights Lions, District 13-C
