Lion Bob has been a member with perfect attendance of the Warsaw Lions Club
since 1971. Bob served as President of his Club in 1977-78 & 2002-03. He also
was the Club Secretary for 10 years. He helped start the River View Leo Club in
1994 and has served as an advisor every since. His other Club activities
include: Tail Twister, Bulletin Editor, and the Warsaw Lions Minstrel show for
36 years. He served as Zone Chairman in 1999-2001, State Band Committee from
1993-98. He was the Warsaw Lion of Year 1990-91 & 1993-94, Warsaw Lion Community
Person of Year 1994-95, and was awarded the Dick Bryan Fellow in 2003. Lion Bob
has attended one USA/Canada Leadership Forum and five International Conventions.
Bob graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Agricultural
Education in 1971 and received a M.S. Degree from OSU in 1991. He taught
Agricultural Education at River View High School for 30 years and retired in
July of 2005. Bob farms a 250 acre general livestock farm, and also is enjoying
his retirement with his hobbies of raising tall bearded Iris and Daylillies,
woodworking, and being actively involved in his Community. He is also a
substitute teacher and bus driver.
His community activities include: Nellie Chapel United Methodist Church where he
is Past Chair of Administrative Board and a Church Trustee. He has been a 4-H
Advisor for 42 years, served on the Coshocton County Extension Advisory
Committee, and is currently serving as President of the Coshocton County 4-H
Advisory Committee. He was elected to a 10th three year term in 2006, on the
Coshocton County Fair Board, is Past President, Jr. Fair Superintendent - 22
years, and is currently the District 8 Director of the Ohio Fair Managers
Association.
He is a member of the Walhonding Valley Grange. Lion Bob served as State
President in 1999, of the Ohio Association of Agricultural Educators. He is also
a member of the American Iris Society, Central Ohio Iris Society, and the Ohio
Daylily Society.
Lion Bob and his wife Bev have a daughter Emily (Ryan) Adams who lives in
Pataskala, and a son Jesse who lives in Columbus and attends The Ohio State
University. They have one grandson, Nathan Adams.
