Lion R.J. Konkoleski has 12 years of perfect attendance in the Adena Lions Club
having held the offices of Assistant Tail Twister, Tail Twister, Third Vice
President, Second Vice President, First Vice President, President, Secretary,
Two Year Director, One Year Director, Zone Chairman, Second Vice District
Governor, and First Vice District Governor. He has received the 100% Secretary
Award, the Zone Chairman Award and three Council of Governor’s Awards of Merit.
In 2009, he attended the Senior Lions Leadership Forum at International
Headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois. Lion R.J. is a Certified Guiding Lion and
was presented with an Extension Award in 2010 for his work with the Martins
Ferry Lions Club and a second Extension Award in 2011 for his work with the
Warren Township Lions Club. In November 2010, he was presented with a
Presidential Leadership Award Medal from International President Eberhard Wirfs.
His father, Ray, has been a member of the Adena Lions Club since 1976. His
Grandfather, Louis Raymer, was Treasurer of the Adena Lions Club for 47
consecutive years and had 57 years of perfect attendance when he died.
Lion R.J. is a 1998 graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, WV. He
holds two bachelors degrees, one in Political Science and one in French
Language. He also holds a Certificate of French Language & Culture from the
Sorbonne University in Paris, France. Lion R.J. is the Director of Development
and External Affairs for Belmont Technical College in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
He is married to Lion Laura Glenn and together they have two beautiful cubs,
Catherine, who is eight years old and Ray, who is four. Also part of the family
are two cats, Hazel and Confetti and two dogs, Cheney, a Shorthaired Pointer,
and Blue an Austrailian Shepherd/Blue Healer mix.
Lion R.J. enjoys working on restoring their 1890’s Victorian home in Adena (a
two-year project he’s been working on since 2001), gardening, model railroading,
and collecting antiques. The family attends St. Casimir’s Catholic Church in
Adena.
