Lion Jay has been a member of the Portage Lions Club since June of 1980. He has a perfect attendance record and has held every office except for treasurer. During his time in office he has received the 100% secretary's award and 100% president's award. In 2006-2008, he served as District Coordinator for Campaign SightFirst II during which time he received the Ohio Council of Governors Medal of Merit and the International President's Certificate of Appreciation.

Lion Jay regularly serves as delegate at District Conventions and has also done so at State and International Conventions, as well as attended several USA/Canada Forums. Lion Jay is currently Club Secretary and Chairman of the Adopt-a-Highway and 4th of July Parade committees.
Jay graduated from Bowling Green High School in 1976 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bowling Green State University in 1980. He has been employed with Dacor, Inc as a computer programmer since 1979 and was given a position to work in England for 3 years. Now vice president and part owner of the company, he still enjoys working to solve customer problems.

Jay is active in the Boy Scouts and has been a Tiger Cub Coach, Cub Scout Den Leader, and currently holds the position of Advancement Chair for Troop 422 and serves on the Wood District Committee as Webmaster. Jay enjoys reading, camping, and woodworking.

Jay and Anne have been married for 27 years and have three children, Karen, Greg, and Steve. Jay and Anne are active members of Christ United Methodist Church in Portage.
